Mercury Chelation according to Andy Cutler, Ph.D.

Andrew Hall Cutler, Ph.D.Mercury chelation is a complex topic. Most of what you read is wrong. In my opinion, there is only ONE mercury expert and he is Andy Cutler, Ph.D. Yes, my opinion only – many would disagree with me. Check out Andy’s work and decide for yourself…

One of the biggest misconceptions about mercury detox is that substances like glutathione, cilantro, chlorella, and MSM are helpful. These are harmful, not helpful! They do affect mercury but only to stir it up. DMPS, DMSA, and alpha lipoic acid are the better choices. Read the above links for more information.

    Hello Andrew Cutler,

I am only 28 years old and I have a walker and a wheelchair.
I just had a hair tissue mineral analysis done.
It showed i have high levels of Arsenic. As well as other mineral imbalances
I am literally on my last legs.
    I also have lymes disease.
I need to talk to Andrew Cutler or Mark Schauss.
Please call me when you get this

    Hi Brian
I think Cutler is on the right track..ONE PROBLEM you can only do DMSA / DMPS at very very small dose levels without POSSIBLE kidney damage for some people (I believe low dose is prescribed by Cutler) and I would recommend the far safer Detoxamin (I have no financial link to Detoxamin). See http://www.dmpsbackfire.com/dmsa/default.shtmlPersonally for my heavy metals (high lead and elevated mercury) I used phos chol liver flushes, cilantro and PCA-Rx. Glutathione is the bodies own very powerful antioxidant! It is produced when the body is put on a low carb diet – i.e. when there is low insulin blood levels. With the lack of information about this topic I wrote a book about my detox and recovery from CFS in 2004: “Eliminating Toxic Overload Safely.”Good LuckIan Michael SolleyP.S. I agree that kidney damage should be watched for, but I disagree with the chelators you list – they are not proper chelators and can cause damage, the biology is simple. DMPS/DMSA/ALA are the only truly safe chelators. If someone has a mild amount of metals then those others probably won’t hurt too much, but a severely toxic person can be made very sick and much worse by improper chelators.

    Hello Bryan

Thanks you for your input. In 7 years since I wrote the book and put my site up I have not had one email/one case where someone damaged themselves using Phos Chol, Detoxamin or PCA-Rx, unfortunately I have had cases reported to me about DMSA/DMPS synthetic chelators, I believe that is why the dmps backfire site was put up. I don’t know of any similar site in relation to Phos Chol or gluathione I.V. pushes?

EDTA I.V. on the other hand needs to approached with caution (I have only used the oral type in low doses) and vitamin and mineral supplementation taken as well as liver and kidney support formulas. Whilst I appreciate you may not have heard of any adverse cases with DMSA/DMPS they do exist – as they have for EDTA – if the doctor administering them does so in a too aggressive manner. I believe the small frequent dosing would be the only safe way to approach such synthetics or EDTA I.V.

I’m still curious to know what happened to the You Tube video only because I have had “experience” with Google.

    Thanks Ian

DMPS and DMSA are not the problem with backfires. It is improper usage of them, without using them frequent dose and low dose. This is chelation fundamentals. Any chelator must be used according to half-life dosing. I suggest reading Cutler’s book – have you read it?

EDTA, DMPS, and all chelators can damage a person – even cilantro. The chelator is less the problem, the dosing is the problem.

DMPS and ALA and DMSA are the only di-thiol chelators that hold onto mercury strongly enough to actually usher it out of the body instead of causing redistribution. All cause some redistribution, but these three are chemically the least offenders. It isn’t really something to debate, it is chemically true. But I have heard of people who swear by other chelators. I just don’t think they are really that mercury toxic; if they were, they wouldn’t be having those experiences.

The YouTube video was embedded from someone elses account, not mine, so it wasn’t my video and I don’t know why that person chose to remove it.
